When a high school senior says they want to do urban senior photos in Downtown Denver, I think to myself, “Oh hell yes!”
I love when people are willing to break way from the “norm” and don’t want to do their photos at the most popular spot ever- Chautauqua. Haha. While I love the photos that Chautauqua produces, I love the ones Downtown Denver produces even more! If you’re looking for different ideas and locations for senior photos, you can peep other blog posts for some inspo!

We will start our session off right at the top of the Millennium Bridge. Here is where we will find various backgrounds and textures such as a metal white fence, a faux wooden wall, the city street lights, and towering buildings. If we are lucky, there might be some pops of color with some planted flower boxes. Utilizing the stairs, rails, and open areas on this bridge is so fun!
On our very short walk to our second location, we will likely pop against some building walls. Again, anything that will offer variety to your overall session. This is a time where you might want to change your clothes, too!
On to a downtown Denver rooftop! I think seniors love shooting their senior photos on the rooftop more than anything. It gives an entirely different feel to their photos than the bridge offers. We are able to safely sit on ledges (I super duper promise it’s safe. There are metal guard walls to prevent falling), and all for the city’s buildings as the entire backdrop. I’ve always been completely alone and haven’t had to compete to use this space either, so seniors have felt very comfortable and could let loose.

Right outside of the rooftop is another little area that I love. It has a ton of red brick, a red bridge, and some cool gates to use.
Wondering what clothes you should wear for your urban senior session? Consider solid colors or what people would call urban patterns. You’re obviously more than welcome to wear whatever you want, but some styles will certainly “clash” in this location. Jeans, tanks, tees, hoodies, and plaids are all great choices.

Parking: I always tell my seniors and families to park in the Davita parking lot.I believe it’s around $8 and is super close to the areas we will be using.
Meeting Area: I love to meet at the top of the Denver Millennium Bridge. It’s a wide open space and this is where we will start out session.
Changing Room: There are no bathrooms to use, but I will have my pop up changing room for you to swap outfits!
