Out of all of the talented photographers that you can pick for your little baby, I’m glad you’ve landed here. I promise to deliver on your dreams of having the cutest little sitter session.
If you’ve been able to browse through my sitter photos on my website, you can see that I’m a firm believer in an all white background for these types of sessions. I love that all of the attention is on your baby rather than a fancy backdrop. Now, don’t get me wrong- I love me a good background. I love all of the pretty boho spaces, themed sessions, and the fun items that can go into a styled session. However, I think a simple white background is the best way to have timeless, classic photos of your baby meeting a milestone.
I use a white rug, and a white wall. That’s it! It truly works wonders and leaves your baby the star of the show.
There are so many wardrobe options but I feel the ones that photograph the best are plain neutral colored clothing. Some great items would be a chunky knit cream colored sweater, a tight white onesie, or some knit overalls. All very simple and very classic. These clothing items don’t distract the viewer away from what they should be looking at- your baby! Again, I love fun articles of clothing and all sorts of pops of color; but not for these sessions.
A lot of the times, I love to just do a white diaper cover! Showing off baby rolls is always a must!
Going with the theme of simple and classic, I choose to keep the added accessories the same. Some popular accessories that families add that don’t take away from the photos would be a vintage looking bow for baby girls, and either a bow tie or suspenders for little fellas.
If we are doing a cake smash session, using a birthday hat and a cute little cake is always cute, too.
The only props I usually incorporate are tiny prop beds for you baby to sit on, or large wooden bowls to sit in.
