Has an image ever stopped your Instagram scroll? Made you say, “Gah. That’s so pretty.”? Made you want to do something really crazy super bad? Have you ever met an Instagram Influencer?
Enter Cait.
I don’t know how Cait’s photos ended up in my Insta feed, but I’m dang glad they did. I love love love looking at home decor, adding my own flare to my home and am obsessed with staring at others’ homes. Cait’s feed is full of stunning homes; including her own.
During a photography retreat earlier in the year, I told myself, “I’m going to work with her. I don’t’ know how, and I don’t know when, but I’m going to take photos in her home.” I had reached out to her just kind of toying with the idea. She responded and seemed just as excited to collaborate with me!
Within a few months, she announced she was expecting, so we took this as our opportunity to work together. I was going to do her daughter’s newborn session in her beautiful home that has been renovated beyond belief. Even though we had just been messaging back and forth, I felt star struck! I was actually going to meet someone that I was completely in awe of!
Instagram Influencer or Normal People?
When the day arrived for little Everleigh’s photos, I thought I was going to puke. I was so nervous. I didn’t want to mess up, and I was already terrified of what her final gallery was going to look like. When she opened the door, it was as if I was working with any other family. She was so sweet…and…and…normal! Cait, her husband, son, and daughter were all dressed and ready to get the session started, but I was just taking in all of the rooms in her house. All of the detailed decor, the textures, and neutral colors. Even though some portions of her home were undergoing renovations, it was all still beautiful.
We started with full family photos in the living room and then headed to Everleigh’s nursery. My favorite images from this whole session were from the nursery. The kiddos together in the crib and laying under a toy- so cute.
Since her little guy Joe lost some interest rather quickly (I dont’ blame him!), we were able to get some photos of just Cait and Everleigh together in the nursery and back out in the living room.
Thank you, Pappas!
I am so thankful that the Pappas invited me into their home and let me hang out with them for a morning. They are really sweet genuine people with an incredibly good taste for home decor. Cait and I decided (I hope she still remembers) that I could come back again once their kitchen renovation was complete and Everleigh could sit up to create some new images. I literally can’t wait.
Please take some time to check out her feed and her newborn images. Her little baby has grown quite a bit since we were able to shoot, but I still love the images just as much.
