There’s no right or wrong time to book your Colorado Milestone Photos for your baby. Let that be the most important fact you learn from this post! As a Denver baby and milestone photographer, I get to work with babies, infants, and toddlers of all ages. Here are a few ages of when to photograph your baby and what each age brings to a photo session.

When to Book Your Baby’s Photos

1.) 7-14 Days Old

This goes without saying, right? Your baby’s looks will change exponentially from birth to even just a few short weeks old. The first few days are some of the sweetest days to book your baby’s photos. Every feature on them will change! Eye color, amount of hair, baby acne, dimples and rolls. It’s essential to photograph and document your baby at the earliest stage of life, because there’s no going back. Your memory will never be as good as a true photo that shows all of these little baby features.

2. 6-9 Months Old

While I love the newborn stage, this is my favorite age for photos. They’ve outgrown their newborn features and are growing into their little personalities. Babies at this age are happy to show off their gummy smile and have the cutest outfits around. Sitting up tall, showing off their strong neck skills, nibbling on their toes are absolute “musts” for this age group.

3. First Birthday

These sessions are always fun because parents and I spend a good amount of our time getting your toddler to not crawl away. A complete and total body workout! Ha! Once we have him or her seated in a cute position, we are rapid firing off silly noises and dance moves to get that ONE sweet smile. After that, we usually introduce a cake and let them dig in!
