YOUR MODERN STORY

Boulder Family Photographer

As a top-rated Boulder Family Photographer, I’ve had the luxury of being able to work with hundreds of families. Over the years, I’ve learned exactly what families want from their Boulder family session.

1.) Locations

Great spots for you to choose from!

Boulder is never short on amazing spots for family photos. Some of the most popular are Chautauqua, South Mesa, Flat Irons Vista, and NCAR. If you love these places, we should head there for your family photo shoot. However, because I have the appropriate permit necessary for photo shoots in Boulder, there are a lot of places that are less busy and will bring a different flavor to your session.

2.) Time of Year

Best Month to book your Family Session

Boulder, Colorado is absolutely beautiful year-round. I’ve done photos there in the dead of winter as well as the middle of summer, there’s no wrong time to do your family photos at any of the Boulder locations. It honestly just depends what type of background you’d like and that will dictate when you should book. If you’re interested in Fall colors as the backdrop of your family photos, you definitely need to book earlier than normal to secure a date. October dates fly off my calendar quickly! If you have some flexibility with your calendar, then there’s no emergency rush to pick a date.

Calendar dates start to lessen during September, October and November. It’s best to get a date booked and secured so you’re not stressed trying to fit a date in.

While it does snow often in Boulder, if you’re wanting a snowy session, we might have to play it by ear. Once we see snow in the forecast, we will be in touch to see if anything works with our schedules.

3.) Family Photos Clothing

Your Personal Stylist!

One of my favorite perks that I provide for my booked families is a wardrobe inspo board. This is where you’ll tell what color themes you love, how many family members are in your family, and the overall vibe you’re shooting for. I’ll pull links, and put it all together in a great little inspo board for you to shop from.

It’s important that you dress for comfort, and wear something that fits within our location. For example, if we select an urban setting, it might look a little mismatched if everyone was in fancier attire.

Layering clothes and accessorizing is always suggested! Beanies, hats, scarfs, cardigans, blazer jackets- yes to all!
